A working farm dog:
The “real deal”. This dog is and always has been a working farm dog, bred from working farm dogs. He is as tough as they come and superbly obedient despite being a fully committed dog with nerves of steel. With exceptional loyalty, Bob is our security system and we sleep well knowing he is here. Excellent health test results achieved at 4 years old when he was tested as a fully mature adult. His conformation is, to be totally honest, “average” with a very good front, head, neck, back and ribs but mediocre hindquarters and undershot bite due to shortness of muzzle, but oozes Mastiff type. We do mind about his "faults", but he does the job and rules the roost! He is not a dog for the faint hearted. Very family orientated, not dog aggressive, voice controlled, does not tolerate fools and Mom’s very best boy! This is one highly intelligent and wise dog.
Health:
Hips A2/A2 (0:0) Elbows 0:0 Heart Normal. Overall health has been patchy over the last 18 months since rupturing both cruciate ligaments in a farm accident, requiring emergency surgery, followed within days by a venomous spider bite. Recovery has been slow due to the severity and resistance of the ensuing infection. He never stopped working without complaint through the pain and discomfort. This dog is my hero.
